Description

This beautiful variety with the dark, hammered leaves is named after ‘Tropica’.  Cryptocoryne Wendtii Tropica has beautiful bronze coloured leaves with a ‘hammered’ look when grown in an open space the leaves will virtually lay on the bottom. It is suitable for small aquariums with leaves from 10-20 cm, and a rosette from 10-20 cm wide. Like most other Cryptocoryne, it also grows well in hard water. Best placed in the foreground-midground, the leaves will grow in accordance with its environment. A nutrient rich substrate will bring out the best colours. Under high light the leaves almost grow flat. It generally takes 30 days for a crypt to become established; some leave may shed or ‘melt’ during this period. Cryptocoryne Wendtii Tropica is very easy to grow so it’s a great beginner plant commonly known as Cryptocoryne “tropica”.
