Description

Echinodorus amazonicus is a very common aquarium plant. The plant is beautiful and easy to care. They bear long, ovoid leaves with a pointed tip that grow on short stems. Their leaves are dark or bright green in color. These plants propagate through side shoots off of their leaves. Plants need nutrient-rich substrate to tolerate most lighting conditions, but moderate to high light levels are ideal. Injections of CO₂ are not necessary, but will help the plant grow faster if desired. Amazon sword plants will grow submersed or emersed.
